The 'Géiser: la fuerza del conocimiento (The Power of Knowledge)’ programme is returning to the classrooms of schools across the municipality. This innovative initiative, in Spanish, complements formal education with additional activities designed to enrich students’ overall learning experience.

Géiser, which launched on January 17, promotes institutional synergy by involving various areas of municipal government. This approach ensures smooth communication and knowledge-sharing, enhancing the quality and diversity of the educational activities offered.

“The main aim of the programme is to provide students with learning experiences that go beyond the classroom, strengthening their critical thinking, cultural and social awareness, and promoting values of living side-by-side, and collaboration,” explained Coraima Afonso Navarro, councillor for education.

The programme has begun with two activities: Orientation in the Natural Environment, aimed at first-year secondary school students, and a Route Exploring the Flora of Southern Tenerife’s Midlands, designed for primary school pupils in year four. These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Activities
The activity calendar, which runs until June, includes proposals from specific municipal departments. In this new edition of the Géiser programme, the council reaffirms its commitment to an education that inspires new generations by integrating essential values and practical knowledge into their personal and academic development.
