Adeje’s education department under councillor Coraima Afonso Navarro and Adolfo Alonso Ferrera has announced that the grant-aided school supplies have already begun to be distributed. A total of 671 students in the municipality have benefited from this aid.

A sum of €100,000 has been earmarked, which equates to €149 euros per student, to be used exclusively for the purchase of school supplies for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Coraima Afonso Navarro explained that "with this aid, we want to provide financial support to students and their families to cover the cost of the materials necessary for their education".

The purpose of this aid is to provide grants for the acquisition of materials giving the IT access students need for their education. The grants are for Adeje-based students in public education at infant, primary and second levels.

The councillor emphasised that "the aid for school supplies has an educational and social purpose, since it helps the students who apply for it to have equal opportunities in their education by guaranteeing access to the necessary resources".
