The Employment department, under Raquel Rodríguez Alonso, has announced details of three free online courses for Adeje residents who are currently unemployed.  Those interested can register from today on line, www.adeje.es.

To be eligible for the courses you have to be currently unemployed and registered with a DARDE number and also registered with the Adeje employment service (Bolso de Empleo Municipal) and on the Adeje padrón.  You must also have access to a computer to do the course you opt for and also have access to the internet.

Those who complete the course will receive a diploma.

The initiative has been developed in partnership with the Canarian Employment Service, ISBEL (Experimental Employment Project) and the national department for employment and social security.  “Now, more than ever, we need to invest in training and giving our people every opportunity to work towards the reactivation of the local economy after recent months, and to meet the challenges of the months ahead with the pandemic.  The council is working to strengthen all the areas where they can help individuals, including access to social services, grants for small and medium sized businesses, and the self-employed.  Training and education are two of the essential pillars where we can be of assistance, in particular helping the unemployed who might be able to find new work opportunities and expand their employment possibilities”, said the councillor.

The courses
Computer literacy will be taught between September 14th and 27th, and is a 30-hour online course. The student will learn theory and practice in the use of computers and information technology basics.

The two language courses, English and German, will teach the student how to deal with clients in their chosen language, and the courses run from September 14th to October 25th, with 60 teaching hours. The student will learn the basics of the language to a level that they might need, written and oral, to deal with commercial clients daily and produce short written texts when called for.
