Adeje Town Hall’s Department of Community Welfare and Social Cohesion, held a key meeting today with the principal social organisations operating in the municipality. The meeting, in the CDTCA, was convened and chaired by councillor Raquel Rodríguez Alonso, and saw representatives of the Don Bosco Second Chance School, the diocesan charity, the Spanish Red Cross, the Esperanza de los Pueblos Association, and Adeje parish members in attendance.
The aim of the meeting was to strengthen coordination and collaboration between these organisations and the Town Hall to optimise resources and design joint strategies to improve the well-being of the people of Adeje. During the session, representatives from all the participating organisations shared experiences and best practices, suggested improvements, and identified priority areas for action to address the municipality’s current social welfare challenges more effectively.
Raquel Rodríguez Alonso emphasised the importance of creating collaborative working spaces to provide more efficient responses to the needs of the public, particularly those in vulnerable situations. "These meetings strengthen Adeje’s social fabric and help us establish coordinated action plans that truly address the most basic and urgent needs of the vulnerable population," she stated.
Among the topics discussed was defining a joint action plan to provide a better response to social demands, promote community cohesion, and ensure closer and more effective support. The participating organisations all expressed their commitment to working in this coordinated way, reinforcing their involvement in the development of municipal policies and programmes.
