Adeje Town Hall is carrying out the refurbishment and expansion of the town’s Cultural Centre to modernise its facilities and turn it into an architectural and functional landmark for the municipality. Currently, the work is in the foundation stage, marking the beginning of a project that will not only improve the existing infrastructure but also add new spaces for public use.

The councillor responsible for municipal works, Epifanio Díaz Hernández, highlighted that “the renovation of Adeje’s Cultural Centre is a unique opportunity to revitalise a key space for the municipality. This project not only represents a physical improvement but also a firm commitment to the future of Adeje. We want this space to become a symbol of innovation, sustainability, and accessibility, where culture and knowledge serve the public.”

Díaz Hernández also emphasised that this transformation aims to create a vibrant space where culture, education, and creativity converge, strengthening Adeje’s identity and positioning the municipality for new opportunities. “With this initiative, we aspire to offer a dynamic place that inspires and empowers people’s talents, establishing the Cultural Centre as a benchmark for cultural and social development in Adeje,” he added.

The project, designed with a comprehensive approach, aims to transform the building into an efficient, sustainable, and accessible infrastructure. Key planned interventions include expanding areas such as the library and auditorium, relocating the café, and creating new classrooms tailored to the municipality's educational and cultural needs.

The project involves a 522 m² extension across two floors. Major improvements include an expanded library with increased capacity for book storage and a larger, more comfortable study area.

Other additions include a new auditorium and Aula Magna, both to be renovated and enlarged to host a wider variety of cultural, educational, and artistic events. The café will be strategically relocated to the first floor, overlooking Plaza del Hermano Pedro, aiming to become a functional meeting point for the community.

These upgrades will not only increase the capacity and versatility of the Cultural Centre but also unify its architectural design, aligning it with the Adeje Auditorium, inaugurated in 2023.

Sustainability and energy efficiency are central to the project. Measures include thermal insulation systems, modernised climate control installations, and optimised energy consumption. The work also includes the removal of architectural barriers and proposes improvements to ensure physical, sensory, and cognitive accessibility.
