Adeje Town Hall has launched the Kalon Project, an initiative designed to create empowerment spaces and promote body confidence and self-esteem. Kalon, a name derived from a Greek concept that refers to beauty transcending the superficial, aims to shift the focus toward well-being beyond aesthetic stereotypes.

“The goal is for participants to reconnect with their authenticity, empowering themselves and building a healthier, more loving relationship with their own bodies,” said Esther Rivero Vargas, Councillor for Health, and José Antonio López Delgado, Councillor for Equality, respectively.

Held over seven sessions, every Monday from November 4th to December 16th, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Costa Adeje Tourist Development Centre (CDTCA), attendees will participate in workshops and group activities. These sessions are designed to address issues such as the discomfort caused by not fitting into the beauty standards imposed by society or the beauty industry, while also enhancing well-being and self-assurance.

The project acknowledges how exhausting and frustrating it can be to try to meet unattainable expectations. Therefore, it offers a safe space free from judgment or pressure. During the sessions, participants can explore, feel, and grow, rebuilding their confidence and self-esteem.
