The Adeje Library and the municipal study rooms will remain open in August with varying days and hours. As in previous years, the central library will operate on a summer schedule and from 29th July to 6th September (inclusive), the library will be open to the public from 8am to 2pm. From September normal hours will resume, from Monday to Friday, 8,15am to 7.45pm.
Due to the renovations at the Cultural Centre, the Adeje Library has been moved to the first floor of the same centre, specifically to the former class-room 8, and is now open to the public. The new facilities include 8 reading tables for adults and 4 spaces reserved for younger library users.
Councillor for Education, Coraima Afonso Navarro, stated, “the importance of library services to the public is very significant, as it is a resource very much in demand throughout the year, including during the summer months. We recognise the need to keep the library open during the summer for those who need it.”
Study Rooms
Regarding the study rooms, the one at the Adeje Cultural Centre, designed for use by university students and those preparing for civil service exams, will be open every weekend and on public holidays during its usual hours: Saturdays and public holidays from 9am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm, Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
The study room at Adeje Espacio Joven (Youth Centre), intended for secondary students, will be open during August from Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm. From September, it will return to its usual schedule, 9am to 2pm, and 4pm to 8pm.
The study room at the Centre for Citizen Participation and Coexistence will be open from Monday to Friday, 8am to 7.30pm. This room is intended for citizens and groups requiring space for studying ideas, projects, and collaborative work.
