College entrance exam for students begins

Adeje is hosting the 500+ students from the south of Tenerife sitting the PAU (University entrance exams) this week

For another year Adeje is hosting students sitting the Spanish university entrance exams (PAU). This year 535 students from all over the south of the island of Tenerife will sit the exams at the Las Torres Pavilion and the Centre for Citizen Participation and Coexistence on June 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. The mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, has visited both facilities to see, first hand, that they will meet the needs of the students and regional Ministry of Education as well as the University of La Laguna.
 
Subjects on Wednesday 5 June to be examined are Spanish Language and Literature, Foreign Languages,  Spanish History, the History of Philosophy for the Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts and General Baccalaureate. On Thursday, 6 June, the same subjects will be assessed for the Science baccalaureate.
 
On Friday, 7th June, exams will be held in  Mathematics, Cultural and Artistic Movements, History of Dance, Chemistry, Design, Choir and Vocal Technique, Technical Drawing, Physics, Geography, Artistic Drawing, Mathematics as applied to Social Sciences, Latin, and Musical Analysis.  
 
On Saturday, 8 June it will be Fine Art – Graphic Techniques and Expression, Technology and Engineering, Geology and Environmental Sciences, Greek, Dramatic Literature, Business and Business Design, Performing Arts, Technical Drawing, History of Art, Artistic Fundamentals, Biology and Art History. 
 
Students must present for the exams at 8:30 with the first exams beginning at 9am, the second session at 12 noon and the third round of exams at 4pm.  Each exam lasts approximately one and a half hours.
