Programme of events to mark the traditional celebration of San Sebastián, co-patron saint of the municipality of Adeje

Here is the programme of events planned to mark the festival of San Sebastián, the co-patron saint of Adeje.
 
The festival, which is centred on agricultural and livestock farming in the region, will feature traditional Canarian music and a sung mass followed by a pilgrimage walk to the ocean, accompanied by the animals, both pets and horses, goats, etc., which, after the traditional bathe in the sea, are blessed by the parish priest.
 
Friday 19 January
19:00 h.   San Sebastián church
Sung Mass with the Boleros de Armeñime group, in honour of  San Sebastián, saint and martyr
20:30 h. Plaza de San Sebastián
Procession with the statue of San Sebastián along the usual route, accompanied by the Adeje Patronal Band.  This will be followed by a firework display.
22:00 h. - Plaza de San Sebastián
Performance by the Parranda Chasnera.
 
Saturday 20 January
12:00 h.    San Sebastián church 
Mass in honour of San Sebastián, saint and martyr, sung by the El Mestuaro group.  (You can follow this via live streaming on the Ayuntamiento de Adeje Facebook and Youtube channels)
Followed by a Procession with the station of San Sebastián along the usual route to the shore, accompanied by the Agrupación Nuestra Señora de las Nieves.
Followed by the traditional blessing of the animals.
