Adeje boasts a busy sporting calendar for November and December

Adeje sports councillor, Adolfo Alonso Ferrera, outlined the range of different sporting events and activities taking place in Adeje from now to the end of the year at a press conference on Wednesday 15th November at Club Náutico de Puerto Colón.

 

Also in attendance were education councillor Coraima Afonso Navarro and Guillermo de Benito, vice-president of the Puerto Colón Club, where the tenth anniversary of the ITF Tennis will be held.  The latter expressed his thanks to the council for the promotion of Costa Adeje through sport, which, he commented,  “has allowed this club to hold a major sporting event in the world of tennis in which more than 200 people participate each year".

 

Alonso Ferrera said that "the sporting events that will take place in the municipality reflect the passion that we have for sport in Adeje. The programme for November and December includes a varied range of disciplines that promise to delight both those who come to enjoy them as spectators and others here to participate".

 

Adeje Council firmly believes that sport is the backbone of coexistence, and encourages participation in these activities that enrich the social fabric and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

 

 

The press conference was attended by representatives of the various sports clubs and associations in Adeje, as well as many of the event organisers.  

 

The range of activities between now and the end of the year offers something for everyone and promotes physical activity, a healthy competitive spirit and fun for residents and visitors alike. 

 

The sports councillor stressed that sport is fundamental in the lives of many people and offers many benefits, not only strengthening the body, but also teaching values such as discipline, perseverance and teamwork.  Sporting activities also encourage social interaction, allowing people to connect, share experiences and improve their overall quality of life.
