250 young people took part in Komorebi-con 2023

The day’s events were held in the Adeje youth centre

Adeje’s youth department, under councillor Raquel Rodríguez Alonso, held Komorebi-Con 2023 last Friday, and about 250 young people took part, with anime, manga, K-pop and gamer worlds the protagonists of the day, as well as fantasy-based board games.
 
The day’s activities were in the Adeje youth centre, with Adeje’s education councillor Coraima Afonso Navarro also in attendance, and  included the FIFA 23 (PS5) tournament, played in a single eliminatory match, with winner and runner-up going to Javier Peña and Iván Herrera.  The Formula 1 (PS4) tournament was won by with Adrián Trujillo and Kevin León in second.  Brian Caicedo won the Dragon Ball FighterZ competition.
 
The winner of the "Frikitest" quiz was Zheng Wang, who demonstrated her knowledge of anime, k-pop, comics and video games. The "Find the Pikachus" activity turned the youth centre upside down, with eventual winners being Javier Peña, Paula Rodríguez and Acerina Borges, in that order. 
 
Participants didn’t miss the opportunity to take home a souvenir of their favourite anime or manga characters through the Artist Alley space, where they could meet different artists.  They also had fun with the virtual reality stand, enjoying an innovative and immersive experience with virtual and augmented reality projects.  Well-known cosplayers from the Canary Islands were on hand, such as Soku, Kame and Jukorio, who took part in a conference on this activity, as well as the cosplay catwalk, where participants tried to embody a character through their costumes. The winners were Mat, who came first, and runner-up Jennix.
 
K-Pop fans were also catered for with a K-Pop Random Dance and a masterclass by Alexis (Nolhant), alongside Tito and Cristina, who shared their experience with fans of this musical genre. The K-pop competition was also held this year, with winner Fer and runner-up Dácil. 
 
At the end of the Komorebi-con, councillor Coraima Afonso Navarro, presented the prizes for the day.
 
The Komorebi-con event had the support of Costa Adeje Tour, Damián Mesa Educación, Yantra Projects & Management and El Globo Cómics, and the assistance of the support staff of Adeje Desarrolla and Don Bosco.
