In the most recent council session the free transfer of the land to the Canarian housing institute was agreed

Adeje will have 45 new social housing units for rent, as was voted and agreed at the last session of the Adeje council.  The council ratified the free transfer of two plots of land, in Armeñime, to the Canarian housing institute, a body who will plan and build the homes.  The 45 houses will be under a social housing plan and available for rent when completed.

The building plan is now ready to being, with all of the requisite certificates and technical surveys complete.  While the initial plan was approved at the end of 2021, the most recent sitting of the council, voted to proceed now that all the legal submissions are in place, and the vote was passed unanimously by all parties who sit in the council.

Adeje mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga said, “It is vital that there is investment in social housing, and we didn’t hesitate in approving the transfer of public land to the institute to build, because it is really important to have more housing for those who live and work in the borough”.

The Canarian housing institute has now taken possession of the land, and will begin to oversee construction of the residential buildings.

The purposes for which the land was granted free of charge must be completed within five years and the use must be maintained for the following thirty years.
