Adeje to become the epicentre of women leading the way in innovation and science

The initiative was proposed by the Red Innpulso in conjunction with Adeje council

3 november 2022
The Spanish secretary of state for innovation, Theresa Riesgo Alcaide, will be present at the event

The Red Innpulso (the cities for science and innovation network) and the Spanish department for science and innovation in conjunction with the Adeje council will host the II Jornadas de Mujeres Innovación y Ciencia (women in innovation and science), valuing the role of women scientists in our society on November 10th. This is a national event open to all those boroughs that are part of the network and to the public in general, and counts on the support of the University of La Laguna, the Canarian Institute of Agrarian Investigation, and PCTT, the Tenerife Science and Technology Park.

Adeje mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga said, “This meeting is very important, in the first place because it recognises the rightful place women in science and investigation hold, vital for our society, and in general it reminds us of the importance of proper investigation and scientific research”.

The event will take place in the CDTCA with representatives and participants from all over Spain, part of the Innpulso network.  The Spanish secretary of state for innovation, Teresa Riesgo Alcaide, will deliver the closing address.

The format will see a series of round table discussions throughout the day, looking at agro-ecological development and sustainability: looking to the future, applied innovation: scientists and entrepreneurs, and encouraging careers in technology.
