Adeje council and Fred Olsen - Hotel Jardín Tecina in La Gomera have just signed an employment agreement for Adeje residents who are registered as unemployed and meet the job specifications for the hotel’s vacancies and those of the maritime sector.  Furthermore, for those who are successful in applying for a job in the hotel, accommodation is part of the offer.

The details have been registered with the Adeje council department of economic development and job creation for those who are registered as unemployed and on the council’s job seeker data base.  The department has been offering a candidate base and selection process for a number of companies seeking new employees.

The Fred Olsen company and the Hotel Jardín Tecina will inform Adeje as vacancies arise and the profile of the ideal candidates to fill those positions and the council will share that information with the job seekers registered locally. The agreement between the bodies also stipulates that both organisations may collaborate on training programmes to improve the employment chances of those seeking work, promoting equality of opportunities, with job offers in different areas of the hotel – maintenance, cleaning, gardening, service, etc.

This is not the first time the council have collaborated with the La Gomera-based hotel in finding employees, and the department are also currently designing training programmes for those interested in working in the marine sector as well.
