Adeje council’s department of Works and Services, under councillor Esther Rivero Vargas, has been working in various parts of the borough upgrading and repaving in Calle Tágara, la Avenida Rafael Puig, Eugenio Domínguez and Calles Cuba and Guatemala in Costa Adeje.

“The works falls under maintenance of existing infrastructures which we are looking at throughout the borough”, commented the councillor who said that while she knew the works could be a temporary bother for people, she asked for patience, “as they are essential – in the first place they greatly improve mobility for our residents and visitors and in the long term avoid over-crowding and traffic jams in certain parts of the borough.  The improvements are really important for Adeje and will cost in the region of €590,000, lasting about 6 weeks for the Costa Adeje work and six months for the remodelling of Calle Tágara”.

Along the Avenida Rafael Puig, Eugenio Domínguez and Calles Cuba and Guatemala works involve complete repaving of the paths, and extra work in improve and cleaning up drainage systems.

The Calle Tágara, between the Avenida de Ayyo and the Avenida de Barranco de Las Torres, will see street repairs carried out as well as paving, with new public lighting, green zones, and drainage upgrades.  This is a zone used by much of the public, given its location near the Las Torres pavilion, the Guardia Civil HQ, shops and a large number of homes, and the work will benefit all those users when complete.
