9 march 2022

Adeje is continuing its route to becoming an 'intelligent tourism destiantion', in conjunction with T-Sytems, and is launching the Aero-Pulse digital platform which will bring 14 new compenents to the project, including intelligent management beach systems.  The on-going evolution is linked to the national department of digital transformation's intelligent touirsm destinations project as part of Red.es, with national and EU funding available.

The future proposals will see beaches registering use of water in the local shower stations, cameras will see which areas of Costa Adeje have more people present, beaches will also have interactive information points.  The digitilisation will improve the tourism offer and the quality of life of residents, says the Adeje mayor. We will also see

  • Intelligent street lighting systems
  • Intelligent watering and weather systems
  • Intelligent rubbish collection system
  • Intelligent parking systems (with 7 public parking zones currently in operation)
  • Effecient energy use in public buildings

The LoRaWan communications network will be connecting the different sytems covering the entire borough.  There will be a unified tourism destination platform, with an open data base with access available to businesses, members of the public, giving information on weather forecasts, bus arrival times, etc. There will also be a citizen participation platform through which people can ask questions, make suggestions, etc.

This will all be compatible with the Smart Adeje app which includes information about events and activities in Adeje, as well as parking , weather, public transport, etc. assisted by the installation of 200 bluetooth beacons throughout the borough.
