Adeje’s centre for citizen participation, in Las Nieves, has been the HQ for a training course for local police overseen by members of the regional government’s security and emergency department. Taking part have been local police from Adeje, Santiago del Teide, La Orotava, La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The aim of the course, explained the councillor with responsibility for security in Adeje, Mercedes Vargas Delgado, “is to train police to act in a preventative manner particularly regarding the safety of younger people, and those professionals working in the field of social services”.
The course began this Monday, February 21st, and runs until Wednesday February 23rd. During March another course is also planned dealing with the issues regarding the safety of the local population and guarantees of judicial attention in various situations.
