The Adeje services were busy today attending to a number of incidents caused by high winds over the weekend.  Fortunately, these were principally material damages and to date no injuries have been reported.

The major incidents reported in Adeje included the collapse of part of the rock face of one side of the Las Galgas beach in Playa Paraiso.  The local police were on the scene quickly, closing off part of the beach and the pedestrian zone alongside near to the Hotel Roca de Nivaria and the Hotel Riu for security reasons.

A palm tree fell onto some of the outer buildings of the Casa Fuerte (fort house) in the town, destroying part of a wall, and the matter was attended to by the volunteer fire service.

The outdoor hoardings of the Tijoco Bajo primary school were also damaged during the inclement weather and the services carried out an assessment during today, Monday, with the sports zone near the hoardings closed to students for the time being.

There were also reports of damage to private works and a lamppost was damaged during the high winds.

According to the Adeje councillors for security, Mercedes Vargas Delgado and for municipal services Esther Rivero Vargas, the services such as the fire brigade, the lighting service provider Imegal and EMSA, providing services in the borough, were active all day and continue to be on alert for any further incidents.
