The Adeje department of Education, under councillor Maria Clavijo Maza, and in conjunction with ASCAN-Torrabonaf, have launched this year's 'Cacharros' (art made from recycled material) competition, CreArte.  The competition is open to students from infants and primary schools in Adeje and students have until November 22nd to submit their individual creations.

The councillor commented, "This has become a traditional project that involves students and their families, and the jury take many aspects into consideration, inlcuding the use of recycled material such as cans, plastic bottles, jars, etc.  We also look for originality and creativity in each work".

The competition has been running for 11 years now and the full list of rules and regulations are available in Spanish online, www.adeje.es

The winning entries will be exhibited in the Adeje cultural centre and will also win vouchers for books and school materials.  Each school's top three entries will win a prize and be part of the exhibition.  The prizes have been sponsored by ASCAN-Torrabonaf and Aqualia Entemanser.  All participants will also receive a diploma.
