The event, for professionals in the sector, is part of the Adeje series of gastronomy events for the month of November, Degusta.Me 2021, “a very important event for the borough, showing that we are coming out of the depths of the pandemic, and we are delighted that these professional are here in Adeje to show off their baking skills”, said councillor Manuel Luis Méndez Martín, adding that it was a fine example to young people too.  He presented the prizes alongside Ruymán Melián, director for Gespan and the Inveges Group.

The jury were made up of four professionals from the sector who evaluated the breads using a variety of criteria including image, form, grain and structure, weight, crust, taste and aroma.

The event is part of the national ‘Ruta Española del Buen Pan’ (Spanish bread route), with 17 Spanish regions taking part with the final to be held in Valencia in November.  From all the entries submitted during the regional and national competitions, the jury will select the 80 top bakers who will form the Spanish Bread route 2021.
