Elsa Punset is the inaugural speaker at the opening of this year’s Adeje Summer University

participacionyconvivencia@adeje.esSpanish author Elsa Punset is the guest speaker at the inauguration of this year’s Adeje Summer University, in its 28th year. Her address is titled, “Propuestas para estos tiempos extraordinarios” (Ideas for these extradordinary times).

 

For the first time in its history the UVA (Universidad de Verano de Adeje) will be completely open to audience participation, and members of the public can send their questions via email to participacionyconvivencia@adeje.es. The inauguration itself will be live streamed on the Adeje social networks tomorrow, July 16th, and starts at 12 midday. 

 

Writer Elsa Punset is a philosopher and leading science commentator on the Spanish media and culture scene. An expert in emotional intelligence as a tool for positive change, she is well known for her work on television (El Hormiguero (The Anthill) a talk show on Antena 3, science program Redes and culture-focused Para todos la 2 on RTVE  as well as for being the author of bestselling informative and children’s book, with over 2.5 million readers.

 

Born in London she graduated in Philosophy and Arts and after obtaining a master’s in Humanities from Oxford University, was awarded a grant by the Fulbright Program to study in New York. She has a master’s in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Madrid and another in Secondary Education from the Camilo José Cela University. Elsa has worked at Cadena SER and with publishers Grupo Anaya.

 

She has been published in various countries, her work helping children and young people deal with emotions. In September of 2020 she released her work “Fuertes, libres y nómadas” , propuestas para vivir en estos tiempos extraordinarios.
