Adeje is holding an environmental workshop; “La huella que dejamos” (The print we leave behind)

The Adeje Department of ecological transition, under Councillor Manuel Luis Méndez Martín, has organised an ecological workshop under the TREEMAC umbrella, on Thursday June 3rd, “La huella que dejamos” (the print we leave behind).

 

The main speakers will address three main themes, rambling as it pertains to the local economy, our carbon footprint, and the evolution of water and its role in Adeje society.  Anyone interested in taking part should register online, www.adeje.es.

 

According to Méndez Martín, “we are continuing our work on promoting actions in relation to ecological transitions and sustainability.  The pandemic has meant we have had to delay some events, but our commitment hasn’t wavered and we have already held participative events. This workshop is about awareness of the need to preserve our natural spaces and resources”. 

 

The workshop is from 5pm – 7.30 on June 3rd, with speakers each delivering a short address and then time for audience participation and questions. 

TREEMAC is a European-African network of natural spaces working to increase awareness, and value and properly manage the biodiversity and ecosystems.  The budget for the project, over €2 million, is part of the INTERREG MAC 2014-2020 programme, with funding from the European Fund for Regional Development. Partners in the project are the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Senegal and Mauritania.
