Adeje Town Hall has opened the registration period for animals participating in the traditional San Sebastián Festival, which take place on January 20. Interested parties must complete the registration process by January 16 either through the municipal website or in person at the Adeje Cultural Centre. To register, owners must present an up-to-date vaccination card, civil liability insurance, and the corresponding application form.

The department of culture, under councillor Adolfo Alonso Ferrera, has emphasised the importance of this registration process to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved. "The San Sebastián Festival is one of the most cherished events in our municipality, and we want to guarantee it is taking place under the best conditions, ensuring the safety of both attendees and participating animals. We urge everyone to comply with this essential requirement," said Alonso Ferrera.

Adeje Town Hall has also confirmed that a team of vets will be present during the event to oversee the animals' welfare. The veterinary team will ensure that the animals are in good condition and that all required documentation is in order for participation.

The San Sebastián Festivities, one of Adeje’s most iconic events, will be celebrated on January 19 and 20. The programme includes religious, cultural, and traditional activities, with highlights such as the solemn mass in San Sebastián Church on January 20, followed by the procession to La Enramada beach, where the traditional blessing of the animals will take place.
