Adeje hosted the meeting of the Tenerife South Employment Network

Experts in career guidance explained the latest developments in the sector

The REC, the Canarian Employment Network, hosted a meeting in the Costa Adeje Tourism Development Centre (CDTCA) recently.  The meeting was an initiative of the Canarian Employment Service, and the network operates as a co-operative network that generates spaces for collaboration between specialists in vocational employment guidance.
 
Alberto Álvarez Jiménez, councillor for Economic Development and Employment, stated that "this type of networking is essential to meet our people’s needs", and expressed the importance of permanent training for the staff in his area.
 
Staff from the Canarian Qualifications Institute was also on hand to discuss professional evaluation and accreditation procedures as well as new legislative developments.
 
The aim of the event was to improve the employability of job seekers, taking advantage of the multidisciplinary nature of the team of professionals that are part of the organisation.  The REC is made up of specialists from bodies and organisations working in the field of career guidance and employment in the Canary Islands.  There are different local bodies linked to geographical employment offices - the REC Tenerife Sur includes the Employment Offices in Los Cristianos, Guía de Isora and Granadilla, encompassing  people from Santiago del Teide, Guía de Isora, Adeje, Vilaflor, Arona, San Miguel de Abona, Granadilla de Abona and Arico;
