7 december 2023
The Asociación de Barmans de Tenerife  (ABT) in conjunction with the  Spanish Barmans Federation have announced details of  the LXVIII Congreso Nacional de Coctelería.

At a recent press conference, Adeje council and the board and members of the Tenerife Bartenders Association gave details of the upcoming national convention, which will attract the best professionals of the sector from all over the country, and  will take place in Adeje from December 10th to the 15th.

Councillor Mercedes Vargas Delagso, in  charge of economic activity and employment, said the event will give people in the trade the chance to catch up on new trends and ways of making cocktails, with the help of the range of national professionals who will be here next week.

She added her thanks to ABT for having chosen Adeje for this congress, “because it will undoubtedly not only highlight the value of the Costa Adeje brand and our tourist destination, but also reflect the talent and professionalism of all the participants”.

Councillor Alberto Álvarez Jiménez,  in charge of economic development, told press that the event will be attended by leading bartenders from the 21 associations that make up the Spanish Federation of Bartenders, “guaranteeing an enriching exchange of knowledge and experiences for all attendees”.

Competitions during the convention will include the Schweppes and Gin Bruni Gin Tonics Competition, the Plantation Creation Challenge, and young bartenders (under 27) will have a special role in the "Monin Game's", a competition of French syrups in which they will develop their skills and demonstrate their genius and know-how with the surprise tests set by the brand.  There will the grand final of the 3rd edition of Lady Amarena, organised by the company FABBRI, and the Presidents' Cup, which promotes the use of local products with the ‘km 0’ designation.  And the flagship competition of FABE (Federation of Spanish Bartenders' Associations), Coctelería Clásica, which this year will be held in the Long Drink category, and its three categories, young Bartender, Bartender and Flairtender (Acrobatic Coctelería).

Attendees will be able to enjoy intense days full of creativity, skill and passion for bartending, as well as explore the latest trends and developments in the world of drinks.

"We are thrilled to host an event of this magnitude that brings together the best cocktail talent in our country. Adeje will become the epicentre of innovation and excellence in mixology during these days," said Mr. David Arrebola, president of the Tenerife Bartenders Association. The conference will also find out who will represent Spain at the next World Cocktail Congress 2024 to be held in Madeira.
