The IV Tuespaña Convention will be held in Adeje, in Tenerife in October 2024, ensuring that the island is at the centre of talks regarding the Spanish tourism sector. The specific theme of the Tenerife convention will be digitalization. Over three days, the sessions will include presentations, roundtable discussions, market presentations, and bilateral meetings between various public and private stakeholders and Spain's Tourism councils abroad.

Rosa Dávila, President of the Tenerife Cabildo, said, "We are delighted at the news that Tenerife will host the IV Convention of Turespaña next year. This body encompasses the entire tourism sector in Spain and includes representation from major international tourism actors. It is an opportunity for the island to continue to be a reference destination." Dávila emphasised that this is an exceptional achievement that is evidence of Tenerife's commitment to excellence in tourism.

Lope Afonso, Cabidllo Vice President and councillor for tourism added, "This event will show the world how important the Tenerife tourism destination is, how dynamic our capacity and offerings are, and we will do this in the context of the discussion on the major challenges facing the global tourism sector, such as digitalization, sustainability, and making tourism a competitive industry that generates well-being and has roots in the region. Tenerife is a leader in national and international tourism." he added, "Our island is a leading tourism destination that emphasises sustainability, and contributes to wealth and employment in the region."

Dimple Melwani, CEO of Tenerife Tourism, said that the Tenerife team returned from this convention, held in San Sebastián "with great satisfaction now focussed on organising, together with Turespaña, the largest event in the national tourism sector." Melwani said that "Tenerife Tourism proposed digitalization as the central theme for the IV Convention of Turespaña because, along with sustainability, they should be the levers for transforming the current model, building more efficient, sustainable, and inclusive destinations that respond quickly to market changes and have a positive impact on both residents and tourists." In this context, the head of Tenerife Tourism emphasised that "tourism has significant challenges to face, and thanks to technological advancements and the use of data, we can plan, optimise resources, customise offerings, and improve operational efficiency."

José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, the Mayor of Adeje, said, "It is great news that Tenerife and specifically Adeje will host this annual convention of the most important players in the tourism sector. These will be important days, when we will discuss the most immediate challenges we must face and the changes that are already occurring in our environment. This should help us position ourselves at the forefront of these changes, always with the goal being that the main economic sector in the Canary Islands continues to generate wealth and opportunities for our people. All the work to improve and advance tourism should be focused on this, the fair distribution of these benefits and promoting tourism that generates higher income while consuming fewer resources."

The Turespaña Convention is an annual event designed as a channel and forum for the exchange of information and joint reflections on the Spanish tourism sector. It serves as a space for meeting, collaboration, and planning between Turespaña and Spanish tourist destinations for the exchange of best practices in the public and private tourism sector, strengthening collaboration mechanisms for tourism marketing planning, and disseminating trends and initiatives from the private tourism sector that can support the formulation of initiatives within the competencies attributed to each administration.
