English Time is back on air

The new season begins on Radio Sur Adeje from Thursday September 21st

20 september 2023

English Time returns to the airwaves, after an extended break, on Thursday September 21st.  The time slot for the programme, now in it's 12th year, is 1 - 1-30pm.

English Time is presented by journalist Clio O'Flynn, with monthly news reviews from Janet Anscombe, and a host of other regular guests.  In the first programme of the season Clio talks to the new Adeje councillor for tourism, Patricia Paulsen Fölling. Patricia has come to public life with a sterling background in tourism, having studied the trade, and worked her way up the hotel structure both here and abroad.  She also speaks fluent English and German and no doubt has a handle on other languages. And once her warking day is done, she is usually on call as a member of the Adeje volunteer fire fighers and was part of a team fighting the blaze that consumed part of Tenerife this summer.

Clio is also in conversation with the British Consular Regional Manager for Spain, Lucy Gorman, who was here on a diplomatic visit last month. Lucy talks about recent changes in consular structures, how Brexit might still be affecting residents and visitors,  and how they advise visitors on how to avoid trouble on holidays.  .

Coming up in the next few weeks, a special profile programme with Janet Anscombe and a programme looking at environmental concerns on land and at sea here on our lovely islands.

Tune in for a fascinating first season programme, English Time, Radio Sur Adeje, Thursdays at 1pm, from September 21st.
