Adeje Town Hall is asking people to talk about “Mi rincón favorito de Costa Adeje” (my favourite spot in Costa Adeje) via Instagram. This is a competition open to all, and through it we can all discover the real beauty spots according to the public who are visiting them. You can photograph your favourite spot, or sunset, plazas or parks, beaches or hidden corners of Costa Adeje, or even your favourite bar or restaurant with a signature dish (always under the data protection act).
There will be a series of prizes, and winning works entered into the competition will also be entered into a national search for “Mi rincón favorito”, looking for the best spots in Spain. The closing date for entries in September 10th 2023.
According to the Adeje councillor for tourism Patricia Paulsen Fölling, “we are asking people to use their creativity in the world of digital photography, and help us fill social media with fantastic visual cultural content. The competition also has a promotional side, obviously, this time with members of the public showing the parts of the borough that they feel are particularly special”.
To take part you should upload/take a photo with your mobile phone and upload it to Instagram using the competition hashtags - #mirinconfavorito, #mirinconfavoritodecostaadeje , and #BECURIOUS, and fill in the following form: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeigcAhhHxciQCIn3GeeIBictrNVFEDy5l2nO2IMYXJzqtl2g/viewform where you will also full competition details.
The photo caption/description will be seen to form part of the work and taken into account by the jury when they are choosing the winners, so take time to perhaps include any cultural or historical references.
The photo format is free style, you can include emoticons, and entries will be accepted by photographers of any age and nationality. The only requirement is that the photo is taken here in Costa Adeje or has special relevance or reference to the place.
Prizes
There are prizes of €200 and €100 for second place. The winning photograph will also be used in promotional materials such as postcards, posters etc., accrediting the work of the photographer. The winning photograph will be entered into the national competition where there are prizes from €500 to €100 and ten commendations with a prize of €50 each. Local prize-winners will be announced on September 10th and national winners on September 27th, to coincide with World Tourism Day.
This is the third year of the competition – over the previous two years there have been over 7,000 photos submitted.
