Beatriz Crespo, a doctor and sports therapist, will deliver the inaugural address

Next Friday, July 14th, at 11am, Beatriz Crespo will deliver the Adeje Summer University inaugural address. For the first time the inauguration will take place in the Adeje Auditorium. Crespo will focus on what is one of the themes of the summer university, artificial intelligence. Her address is titled “La IA en nuestro día a día: una mirada práctica del presente hacia el futuro” (AI in our daily lives: a practical look from today into the future). The event is open to the public but space is limited.
The courses and workshops held during the Adeje Summer University are currently open for registration on
https://www.adeje.es/uva. The Adeje Summer University is now in its 30th year, and is joint initiative of Adeje Town Hall and the University of La Laguna. The courses are at university level and course credits are awarded, but are open to all. Themes this year range from issues of health to sport, sign language, artificial intelligence, oenology, and the arts.
Beatriz Crespo is a doctor with two Cum Laude PhDs, one in Paralympic Sports Performance (2012) and another one in Medicine (2017). She works on helping companies in the challenge to lead corporate health and wellbeing using big data with her company, Freedom & Flow.
She is also well known as a successful businesswoman. Among her clients are Repsol, Banco Santander, Cepsa, Astrazeneca and the Chilean bank BCI, among others. In 2018 she was listed in the top 100 Women Leaders in Spain and in 2019 names as one of the Top Voices in Spain in Linkedin.
The inaugural address will look at how AI affects our daily lives; how and where is it being used all the time; what benefits or disadvantages does AI create?
