20 june 2023
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is one of the most devastating illnesses for an individual and their family, which is why there has been a global move to increase awareness and visibility about the ailment, so that society in general knows what ALS is and what is needed to continue investigations into treatments and cures.

ALS is often called Lou Gehrig's disease after the baseball player who was diagnosed with it

Adeje council, in conjunction with the TeidELA Association (ELA is the Spanish acronym for ALS) and the ConELA confederation, once again will light the Plaza de España in green to mark Global ALS Awareness Day.

TeideELA is a non-profit making association that works in the Canary Islands assisting those with ALS and their families.
