You can apply for a San Juan/San Pedro bonfire permit now

Under Cabildo regulations, bonfires can only be lit in areas near the coast given the potential forest fire risks in the midlands and upper regions

Adeje Council, in advance of the celebration of San Juan and San Pedro, has announced that for anyone planning to build and light a bonfire in a private area in what has been designated as Zone B (from the motorway to the coast), they must fill in and present the relevant form, which can be found online www.adeje.es

Information must include the location of the bonfire and name the people responsible for it (adults). People who wish to request to make a bonfire may submit the form online or in person at the public offices on the Calle Grande. 
 
The bonfires may be lit from 8:00 p.m. on the 23rd and 28th to 2:00 a.m. on the 24th and 29th, respectively.
 
The making of bonfires is prohibited if there are adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds or extreme temperatures, or other weather alerts declared by the Government of the Canary Islands.
 
Conditions for building and lighting bonfires
The place where the bonfire is located must be easily accessible to security and emergency services.
The bonfire must be located outside ravines, protected natural spaces, away from  homes or dangerous areas, as well as from facilities with a risk of fire or explosion, such as service stations (gas stations) or industrial facilities where materials capable of exploding and/or burning are produced and/or stored.
The bonfires must maintain a minimum distance of 15 meters from any construction, road, power line, vehicle or installation and a minimum distance of 100 meters must also be respected between bonfires.
The area surrounding the fire should be cleaned in order to eliminate or minimise any possibility of the fire spreading.
The pile of materials to be burned must not exceed a height of 2 meters nor have a diameter greater than 3 meters.
The bonfire must not include flammable products such as gasoline, solvents or alcohols, or products capable of exploding due to overpressure such as aerosols, or elements of plastic composition, or any other type of waste whose combustion may lead to the emission of highly polluting or annoying gases. (tires, electrical appliances, etc.), as well as fireworks or lighter materials that can detach with the wind, such as paper or light fabrics.
