Adeje council’s department of community welfare has prepared a series of different activities to celebrate International Day of Families, which is on Monday March 15th.  The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and give added visibility to the rights of children.

The activities have been designed in conjunction with a number of family associations who are part of ABISUR (Adeje, Guía de Isora, Santiago del Teide, Arona, San Miguel de Abona, Granadilla de Abona, Arico, Fasnia, and Vilaflor) and the Cabildo IASS, the social services section of the Tenerife Cabildo.

One of the primary activities has been a participative process, where the opinions of our residents have been sought to improve the promotion of the rights of children and familes in the boroughs who are participating in ABISUR.  The results of the survey will be discussed at an assembly on this Friday, May 12th with representatives of different collectives.

There will also be an interactive photography exhibition from May 15th to 22nd in the Adeje Cultural Centre and until June 28th in other participating boroughs.

There is also a project, for younger children, that has been taking place in different schools throughout the island, working in Adeje with 5th and 6th classes in Armeñime and Tijoco.  The children from 5th class in Armeñime are also preparing a video about what kids need to be happy and that should be available soon on the Adeje council Youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@ayuntamientodeadeje/featured
