Fun and learning – the two central axes to the Adeje youth spring programme

The activities are designed for people from 14 to30 years of age

The department of youth has published the spring programme of events running until the end of May, offering young people in Adeje a range of activities, from fun to formation.  The full list of activities can be viewed online here, https://www.adeje.es/juventud/actividades/19775-programacion-de-primavera-de-adeje-espacio-joven .
 
The courses and activities are designed for people from ages 14 to 30, and the youth centre itself is a meeting place itself, with a range of indoor facilities. 

Courses, talks and workshops
Included in the spring activities are different courses, talks and workshops. From May 8th to 12th people can sign up to train to be an event steward.  This is an in-person course lasting 20 hours in total.   On May 15th there is a talk about communication with the deaf community and a class in LSE (Spanish sign language).
 
From May 22nd to 26th there is a first aid course, with emphasis on how to deal with heart attacks.  (Sign up here https://www.adeje.es/juventud/actividades/19800-curso-online-de-primeros-auxilios-y-rcp-programa-nomada ).  There will be an English language course for students who wish to acquire the B2 certificate (Cambridge issues), and there will be an access test in speaking, reading and listening to get a place on this course. 
 
In June the centre are running a course in piercing. 
 
Tournaments
There will be a PS4 ‘Assetto Corsa’ tournament on May 5th, and a UNO (cards) competition on June 2nd.

Other activities
Throughout the coming months there will be a range of activities taking place run by or from the youth centre.  On June 10th a group will be taking part in the making of one of the Corpus Christi Salt Carpets on the Calle Grande. 
 
The council will award prizes at the end of the school year to students how have received the best grades in 4th year of secondary school and in the final Bachillerato exams. 
 
The department is organising a summer school, for teenagers from 12 to 15 years of age, and details will be published closer to the date.  Throughout these months the centre also offers a host of leisure pursuits including escape rooms, activity contests, beach events, etc.  The full programme is online on our municipal webpage, www.adeje.es
