Adeje launches a new culinary training programme

The project is aimed at long-term unemployed particularly younger people

14 december 2022
Adeje council’s Department of employment and employment has launched an experimental employment project “Adeje Inspírate Culinary Formación y Empleo” (Adeje, Get Inspired, Culinary training and employment).  The project is designed to meet the employment needs of long-term unemployed in the borough, and particularly young people who are already registered on the ‘Garantía Juvenil’ programme

The cost of the project (€120,750) is co-funded by the Canarian Employment service and the Adeje council.  Participants will, upon completion of the programme, receive a professional certificate showing they can carry out basic kitchen operations which should help them in finding a job.  They will also be offered training in personal and professional development alongside other parallel themes.

There will be training options on fusion cooking, vegan gastronomy, workshops on fruits and vegetable preparation and use of basic materials. The course consists of 270 hours of theory and 80 hours of practical work with businesses in the sector, in restaurants in the zone.

It is proposed that there will also be courses in other sectors including virtual communications, community managers, new technology in the tourism sector, ecological agriculture, dealing with health and sanitation products, selling energy efficiency, water treatment, and commercial level English.
