Adeje’s ‘Ponte las Botas’ series of rambles ends the year on a high

There will be a photo exhibition and next year’s routes are already being prepared

The Adeje department of participation, under Councillor María Clavijo Maza, has concluded this year’s series of rambles, ‘Ponte las Botas’ (put your boots on) with an excellent level of participation from the people of Adeje, and high levels of satisfaction from those participants. To end the year, the councillor has also organised a photo exhibition from the different routes taken over the year, which can be seen in the Centre for Participation in Las Nieves. 

 
The series of rambles this year saw a record number of participants, with activities beginning in April and continuing throughout the year, with 24 walks in all, including 4 in La Gomera and Gran Canaria.  Over 150 people took part. 
 
The councillor remarked, “The series of rambles certainly seem to generate a lot of interest among our residents, enjoying the walks, learning more about our environment and healthy lifestyle habits.  We see how engaged people were with the walks, and we are already planning more routes for next year”.
 
The councillor added that additionally the walks had become a tool to help intergenerational integration, with different age groups rambling together.  “This year we offered a greater range of walks including trips to other islands with twice as many people taking part”.
 
Regarding the exhibition the councillor said that “Photography is an excellent way of getting to know the natural riches the Canaries has to offer”.  The photographs were taken by many taking part in the walks.
