The International Nightlife Congress and 7th Moon Awards is taking place here in Adeje, in the Hard Rock Hotel, on November 29th and 30th. During the event there will be workshops, round table discussions and the Gala Golden Moon Awards which celebrated the best clubs in the world – with 4 from Tenerife in the top 100 this year.
This event is, say the organisers, about celebrating the best in nightlife globally, a sector too which represents 3% of Spain’s GDP. It brings together professionals in the sector at local, national and international levels, swapping experiences, ideas, networking, and ensuring that for these two days the south of Tenerife is the centre of the nightlife world.
One of the examples of the work the congress can do is the Triple Excellence in Nightlife, which recognises venues that value security, acoustic quality and excellence in service. The congress will also be introducing a protocol for clubs and bars to work to avoid cases of sexual harassment in their venues.
The president of CEST, the circle of Tenerife South businesses, Roberto Ucelay, said, that the “Canary Islands and in particular the south of Tenerife have an enviable night-time leisure offer. A large proportion of the tourists we welcome every year are here to enjoy our nightlife and restaurants, synonymous with quality”. He added that the event was an excellent opportunity for Tenerife venues to get to know the experiences of other clubs, leaders in the international sector. CEST are co-hosting the event.
The Golden Moon Awards are being announced during the two-day event, and four Tenerife venues are now among the world’s top 100, Papagayo Beach Club, Le Club, Monkey Beach Club and Magic.
