This morning, November 11th, Adeje’s sports councillor Adolfo Alonso Ferrera held a press conference to announce details of a number of sporting events taking place in Adeje between now and the end of the year. The press conference was held in Nexsport with representatives from participating events and news of each date in the sporting calendar.
The 15 main events include the XXXI Rally Villa de Adeje, which has been part of the national rally circuit for a number of years now and which this year will decide who is named Spanish champion. The rally will be on November 24th – 26th.
Other sports featuring in coming weeks include foot volley, karate, cycling, football, swimming, tennis, wheelchair tennis, pigeon racing, and paragliding. The final act of the year will be the Christmas sports gala of the municipal school of rhythmic gymnastics and dance.
The councillor stated that “it was important to announce details of all these sporting events – they also have a tourist dimension, firstly because we have such ideal conditions for hosting so many different events and we have the infrastructures too, and secondly because we have teams and the backup offered by the Adeje council who work to ensure that sport is part of the backbone of society”.
Alonso Ferrera underlined the “importance sport has had in the last few years too; we can see how taking part in sport has contributed to the quality of life of our people in Adeje, and now we also have a programme dedicated to news of our local sporting events, Adeje en Juego, in Radio Sur Adeje
