The Adeje council’s Department of economic development and employment, under councillors Manuel Luis Mendez Martín and Raquel Rodríguez Alonso launched the 13th edition of the annual gastronomy showcase, Degusta.me Adeje which will see events taking place until December 3rd.
During the launch today, accompanied by some tastings and demonstrations, in the CDTCA, councillor Raquel Rodríguez Alonso, said, “the celebration of this kind of event is fundamental in adding impetus for the restaurant sector, hugely important for our borough, and with the sector in Adeje currently home to two Michelin star establishments”.
The aim says the councillor, is “to encourage both the people of Adeje and our many visitors to come and enjoy the gastronomic richness and variety that is on offer here, and which also gives added value to our restaurants as well as those working in the sector.”
The councillor for health, Amada Trujillo Bencomo, said that her department had been delighted to be involved in some way in this event in recent years, promoting healthy eating, and this year there will be a workshop on healthy food and cookery on November 8th in the CDTCA. She added that increasingly people were interested in finding out more about healthy and sustainable eating habits.
The extremely popular Degusta.Me Adeje 2022 tapas route will run from November 11th to 20th. 19 establishments are taking part this year, with a number of different awards and prizes to be won. In the showcookings organised by the council, the excellence of local gastronomy and use of local grown produce will also be emphasised.
The food fair, Degusta.Me Adeje 2022 will be held on December 3rd on the Calle Grande. This promises to be a gastronomic celebration, open to the general public, with local bodegas also invited to showcase their wines. Music and children’s events will also form part of the event.
