The Adeje works and services councillor, Esther Rivero Vargas, has explained that road works have been taking place in a number of smaller villages in the borough - La Concepción, Tijoco Alto, Las Torres and Tijoco-La Hoya - at a cost of up to €850,000.

In La Concepción the works have seen improvements to the TF 585 linking to the main road, with the addition of a pavement and rural track ways.  There have also been upgrades to public lighting along the road, now connecting a series of homes in the rural part of the village to the main road, so the ten families affected now have improved connectivity overall.

In Tijoco Alto works have also seen roads connecting to the main motorway network have improved, with hew lampposts, pavements, drainage and telecommunications.  All the improvements have been designed to fit into the rural setting.  All this will mean many home owners can have full and easy access to their homes with their cars.

In Las Torres road works were carried out to improve Calle Tágara where it connects with  Avenida de Ayyo and the Avenida de Barranco de Las Torres, improving mobility for cars and pedestrians. Street lighting, green zones, public gutters and drains etc., have also been upgraded and the road is now two-way, reducing tail backs along the Avenida Barranco de Las Torres and allowing for a direct link to the link road parallel to the TF-1

Calle la Teodosia in Tijoco- La Hoya has also been improved with new pavements, guttering and public lighting.  A small parking area has also been creating including spaces for people with reduced mobility with improved mobility upgrades planned for the future too.
