If you are interested in learning urban dance then this three-day workshop is for you.
Part of the parallel activities organised by the Summer University of Adeje, there are two master courses being given by renowned dancer and choreographer from Salamanca, Vicky Gómez, 'coach' of several editions of different Spanish TV programmes such as Operación Triunfo (OT) and Junior Eurovision.
Vicky was the first winner of ¡Fama, a bailar! In recent years she has taken her talent theatre too and is the choreographer of the musical Flashdance that is currently on in Madrid.
The Urban Dance workshops are aimed at children, young people and adults on July 20, 21 and 22, morning and afternoon in the auditorium of the Adeje School of Music. There, the dancer will present the fundamentals, basic steps and dance techniques by creating a choreography to be performed on the last day of the course, putting into practice everything learned during the course.
Attending this workshop will allow participants to acquire coordination, strength, flexibility, musicality, body expression and artistic discipline, as well as being able to work as a team and learn the techniques of urban dance that Vicky herself has acquired throughout her career in prestigious dance schools in Madrid, Barcelona, London, Los Angeles or New York.
The workshop for those between 9 and 16 years old, will be held on the 20th (from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and on July 21 and 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The classes for adults (17+) will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the 20th, and from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on July 21 and 22. The price of the workshop is 10 euros.
