Adeje’s Department of culture has announced that reservations can now be taken for tables for the Baile de Magos. This dance, in the Plaza de España, is traditionally held in the Plaza España on May 29th the eve of Canarian Day (May 30th), and everyone attending must be in traditional Canarian costume.

People can book tables (there is no cost) and bring their own food and wine, with events starting from 8.30pm. Table reservations must be made online www.adeje.es and you will receive a confirmation by phone from the department of culture once it has been received. If you just want to attend without reserving a table, you can also do so, but again traditional Canarian dress is obligatory.

This will be the first Baile de Magos in two years following the cancellation of most events during the Covid pandemic, and is organised by the Adeje council and the town’s Folklore School group.  Music will be provided by a number of local groups, including Agrupación Folklórica Santa Ana, La Diata, Boleros de Armeñine, la Asociación Cultural Imoque, la Agrupación Piedra Redonda and la Parranda Mesturado and visiting folklore groups Guargazal, Araza and Las Hiedras.
