Adeje is dedicating this weekend to the celebration of the borough’s Patron

There will be special events all weekend to mark the Canonical Proclamation

A series of act are on today, Friday, starting with the presentation of a book, Libro de Los Milagros, discussed by writer and investigator Nelson Díaz Frías, followed by the presentation of a new musical processional march, “Encarnación Adejera” composed to mark the Canonical Proclamation of Our Lady of the Incarnation. 
 
The music, composed by Jesús Agomar González Guillama, will be played by the Adeje Patronal Band.  There will be a parallel performance event by the Adeje Folklore School. 
This Saturday there will be a special Rogation held (a special day of prayer and religious celebration), with a procession, starting at 8pm, from the Santa Úrsula Church to La Caleta, along the traditional old path.  Everyone in Adeje is invited to take part, and the council will lay on return buses from La Caleta back to the town. 
 
Sunday May 8th will see the official act of Canonical Proclamation in the Plaza de San Sebastián in La Caleta, in the presence of Bishop Bernardo Álvarez Afonso and the parish priests of the borough, with a mass sung by the Sabadeños. There will be a free bus service to bring people to and from the different parts of the borough – more information online, www.adeje.es
On Monday at 7pm the statue will return from San Sebastián to her home in the Santa Úrsula church, driven as part of a flotilla of cars, with a procession from the Cultural Centre
