Municipal activity suspended due to weather conditions

Adeje initiates emergency plans due to high winds

Adeje council have today, Monday March 14th, suspended all municipal activities due to the dangerous winds and initiated the municipal emergency plans. 
 
The suspension affects sporting activities, talks, events, classes in cultural centres, the school of music, the senior citizens department and the municipal youth club. 
 
General Advice 
Close doors and windows to prevent air currents that could lead to breakages.
Clear any non-fixed items from balconies and roofs – before the winds become too strong.
Avoid going out hiking or camping until normal weather returns.
When possible, postpone travel by road or proceed slowly and with caution. The use of public transport is recommended.  
When possible don’t use motorcycles and high-sided vehicles (trucks, vans caravans) that are at risk from strong cross winds.
Avoid walking where trees and branches may fall.
Stay away from walls, old houses, scaffolding, light signs, billboards and other structures that could be knocked over by the wind.
In case of risk from unstable construction, electricity poles or cranes immediately notify authorities on 1-1-2.
Stay away from the coast (beaches, boardwalks, breakwaters, etc.),
