From November 20th to 28th the borough’s rubbish collection company, Ascan Torrabonaf UTE Adeje and the Adeje council have organised a series of events under the European Week for Waste Reduction banner. The projects will work to promote and raise awareness regarding the 3 Rs - reduction, reuse, recycling.
According to the Adeje municipal services councillor, Esther Rivero Vargas “This is a challenge for the borough, but in recent years we have seen a huge increase in the level of recycling in Adeje, thanks to the actions of our resident population”.
The theme this year is ‘Circular Communities’, based on a model of circular economics, sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, renewing and recycling materials and products in the community, as many times as possible, so giving the products themselves added value and getting best possible use out of them.
