Adeje’s council Department of youth, under Councillor Daniel Melo Rodríguez, has organised the borough’s first online chess tournament, taking place on July 19th on
www.lichess.org, a free chess server administered by a non-profit organisation.
The councillor commented, “this online initiative is part of the summer youth activities programme, where we have designed various events for our younger residents during these month”.
Those who wish to take part can go online and register and, depending on the number of participants, can play either standard or ‘blitz’ matches. The tournament uses elimination rounds, depending on the numbers taking part. Full details,
