Celebrating San Juan and San Pedro

Permission may be granted for private and controlled bonfires

17 june 2021

Traditionally the eves of June 23rd and 28th are dates for coming together, and celebration in groups, as people mark the feasts of San Juan and San Pedro, with bonfires and traditions as we enter the summer period.

This year the Adeje council is letting people know that in some controlled private settings bonfires may be permitted but a written request will have to be made. Click on this page, www.adeje.es/ayuntamiento/anuncios/5890-festividades-de-san-juan-y-san-pedro-comunicacion-respecto-a-las-hoguerasquemas-controladas and scoll down to the bottom where you will find the relevant forms that can be downloaded and submitted. They must be presented two days before the eves of the feast days, which fall on June 23rd and June 28th.

As a general rule, bonfires are not permitted along the coast line in Adeje during these celebration dates, in particular at the moment, with the need to control numbers and avoid any overcrowding. Bonfires are also forbidden in any public zones. This year, given the ongoing Covid 19 restrictions, the public are asked to restrian from organising any activities around these dates .
