Beaches
The councillor for tourism, Adolfo Alonso Ferrera noted that from May 14th the Playa Fañabe has been open for uses as outlined by the central government.  The decision was taken following a technical evaluation of the state of the beach and water, and the co-ordination with the company who are in charge of services and beach cleaning.

The public are reminded that during Phase 1 the beach can be used only for individual sports and walking on the sand during the hours already established for different age/family groups. During Phase 1 the beach CANNOT be used for picnics, play, recreational swims or sunbathing.

La Caleta is also open for professional/federated athletes under certain conditions:
That they are complying with the hours as established by central government
They are only practising sport/training
They should be in possession of an accreditation if they belong to a federation
Follow the rules of the federation/safety procedures
Follow the rules as laid down by the maritime safety authorities
Follow the Covid-19 health and safety measures.

In parallel the council continues to evaluate and assess the possibility of opening more beaches in the coming days.
