Adeje strengthens its commitment to consular assistance

The consular representations of Algeria and Ukraine offered services to their nationals at the Citizen Participation and Community Centre

During November, Adeje’s Citizen Participation and Community Centre, located in the neighbourhood of Las Nieves, hosted two consular service days aimed at the Algerian and Ukrainian communities, reinforcing the Town Hall’s commitment to accessibility and support for the various nationalities living in the municipality.

Both sessions were made possible thanks to coordination between Adeje Town Hall’s Department of Citizen Participation and the Department of Protocol, chaired by Adolfo Alonso Ferrera and Manuel Luis Méndez Martín respectively, together with the corresponding consular representations. The Town Hall made the space available to the visiting consulates to carry out their meetings, opening the doors of the Citizen Participation and Community Centre, which serves as a meeting point for neighbourhood associations and other entities.

Adeje has been hosting visits from itinerant consulates for over ten years, establishing itself as a reference point for the resident foreign population. The Town Hall stresses that this joint work allows each session to be carried out efficiently, with good organisation and close, attentive service for the members of the public who attend.

In this context, the Algerian Consulate offered in-person assistance, allowing its nationals to carry out procedures such as document renewals, certificates and other administrative processes.

Furthermore, and for the first time in Adeje, the Ukrainian population of the municipality and the rest of the island were able to access consular services to resolve a range of administrative procedures and needs quickly and effectively.

Adeje Town Hall notes that it will continue to support this type of initiative and is working to increase the presence of itinerant consulates in the municipality, with the aim of facilitating administrative processes for the different resident communities and continuing to strengthen coexistence and collective wellbeing.
