Adeje Town Hall's department of culture under councillor Adolfo Alonso Ferrera, is once again launching a series of courses and workshops related to culture, heritage, and traditions. Pre-registration is now open via the municipal website, www.adeje.es. Classes will begin on 27 January and finish on 21 March.
The courses and workshops will take place in various cultural centres across the municipality. This initiative also includes courses linked to traditions, held at El Granero (Tijoco Bajo).
All courses and workshops have limited places. Once pre-registered through the website is complete, participants will receive an SMS confirming their place in the chosen course, along with instructions for payment. If no places are available, participants will also be notified via SMS.
The registration fees must be paid in person at the Department of Culture offices between 8 am and 2 pm, (currently located in the basement of the town's Cultural Centre). Payment can only be made by card.
Courses and Workshops
Each cultural centre will offer a range of educational opportunities:
- Adeje Cultural Centre:
Comprehensive Word and Excel courses, PowerPoint, Canva and cloud storage, Furniture restoration, Introduction to computing and mobile phone use, Computing for children (ages 7-12), Children's robotics, Video game creation, and Sign language
- Armeñime:
Children’s visual arts, Digital marketing, and Zumba.
- Fañabé Cultural Centre:
Basic and advanced Word and Excel, Computing for children (ages 7-12), Google apps, Zumba, Art on silk, Crepe paper art, Kalamkari fabric art, Thread art (macramé and others), and Kinusaiga art.
- La Hoya:
Computing for children (ages 7-12) and Google apps.
- Las Nieves:
Beginner and advanced sewing, Beginner and advanced pattern making, Nail decoration, Thread art (macramé and others), and Artistic wirework.
- Miraverde Cultural Centre:
Postural correction, Biodanza, Sevillanas, Mindfulness, Sewing, and styling.
- La Postura:
Children’s visual arts.
At the El Granero Centre for Traditional Crafts, in Tijoco Bajo, the focus will be on preserving and promoting Canary Island traditions while encouraging creative learning. Courses offered include: Canary Island pottery, Leatherwork, Traditional clothing, Soap making, and the art of Rosettes and lace.
