He will perform in Golf Costa Adeje on June 11th

24 may 2022
On June 11th, as part of the Costa Adeje Classics concert series, Tenerife tenor Jorge de León will sing live for the first time in the island since September 2019.  The concert starts at 9pm and the singer will be joined on stage by soprano Rocío Ignacio and pianist Juan Francisco Parra.  Concert goers will also be able to sample the gastronomy of the region during the evening.

Jorge de León commented, “There is so many reasons why this concert in Adeje is very special, not least the magnificent programme for piano which the public will be able to enjoy in the open air in this very special setting in Golf Costa Adeje. This is a terrific location, with a stage surrounded by nature, with a wonderful climate, beside the sea, and the incredible surrounds that Adeje offers.”

Jorge de León is one of the best known lyrical singers internationally, and his professional career has seen him grace many top stages, include the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Verona Arena, Massimo in Palermo, the Deutsche Opera of Berlin, the Met in New York, the New National Theatre in Tokyo and many more.
For the singer, appearing on stage is an opportunity to open a dialogue with the audience. “We are talking about music, the most international language there is, a language that allows you to express and explore the senses, generating emotions that are almost impossible to name”.
He has sung under the baton of some great conductors (Maazel, Evelino Pidò, Gianpaolo Bisanti, and Zubin Mehta), and in the world’s favourite operas, including Madame Butterfly, Tosca, Aida, and Macbeth.

Accompanying Jorge de León on stage will be soprano Rocío Ignacio, who has an extensive international stage career to her name.   The pianist is Juan Francisco Parra, who has played with the Gran Canarian Philharmonic Orchestra in the past, and under the direction internationally of Sir Simon Rattle, Miguel ´-angel Gómez Martínez, Adrian Leaper and Pedro Halffter among others.  He has also a recorded with Crystal Records, Rals, and Summit Records.
